Charlsie Louise Smith, 95, of Madison, AL, passed away Thursday, November 25, 2021 at the Madison Manor Nursing Home. Mrs. Smith was born July 17, 1926 in Jonesboro, AR to Willie A. and Virgie (Greene) Houston. She worked as an ATT operator, a bookkeeper, an after-school child-care director, and primarily as a homemaker. She was baptized in 1946 and was a faithful member of the church of Christ. She loved studying her Bible and raising flowers.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of over 50 years, Johnathan M. Smith; and three sisters.
Those left behind to cherish the wonderful memories include her three sons, Johnathan M. Smith II of Lewisburg, TN, Ken (Susan) Smith of Irving, TX and Barry (Cindy) Smith of Madison, AL; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Ronnie Houston of Jonesboro.
Chapel services will be 2 pm Sunday at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home, 1900 West Washington Avenue in Jonesboro. Burial will follow at Strawfloor Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1 pm until time of service.
Mrs. Smith's grandson's will serve as pallbearers.

I loved Mrs. Charlsie. The world is a better place because of her love and example.
I enjoyed know Mrs. Charlsie. She was such a sweet and caring member of Treasures. I remember how proud she was of her sons and grandchildren. She gravitated to all children and was loved by all.
All who knew Charlsie were blessed. So glad she was one of our Treasures. She enjoyed the fellowship with others so much. 🥰
