I was sad to hear of Mack's passing and didn't know about it until after the service or I would definitely have come to honor him. I worked with Mack for 15 years, but he was much more than a co-worker. He was one of my very favorite people there and I considered him a friend. After we were both retired, I saw him a couple of times at plant sales and got me a big hug! I am glad he is with Jesus now but I know many will miss him. My condolences to and prayers for all.

Mack was always smiling and good natured. He never complained or said anything bad about anybody. He said he was a lifelong bachelor. He bring eggs to square dance to sell to other sqsure dancers. He enjoyed his life. And we enjoyed him when he was in a square.

I had the pleasure of attending church with Mack at Oak Park. Mack and I had a wonderful banter about organ music, keyboards and the piano. I was very saddened to hear about his passing. I will very much miss our joking around on Sunday Mornings. Love and prayers for you all.

I met Mack when he took square dance lessons and always enjoyed dancing with him. I invited him every year to our Maverick Mixer Square Dance Club Amateur Night to yodel and we always enjoyed it. I knew he was a highly regarded master gardner and loved talking with him about his different plants. He even said he enjoyed my pics from my yard on Facebook, which I felt was a high compliment! I still have a pair of his gourd earrings I bought at his own booth at the MG plant sale. He was always happy and smiled all the time. You'll be missed Mack but I know you're doing some serious square dancing!

Mack was the ultimate Southern gentleman, who just happened to yodel!! He could get anything to grow, and was always glad to share his plants with any and all who expressed an interest. His kind spirit will be missed at Saline County Master Gardener meetings. Rest In Peace, Mack.

Such a sweet man I am so sorry to hear this. Mac always visited my neighbors, Sam and Susan Hilterbrand. Several years ago a plant showed up on my front doorstep, I had no idea what it was or how it got there. Couple days later Mac drove by my house and saw me outside, came up and introduced himself, Told me he was the one who had left the plant, it was a ginger plant ,I still have it in my backyard against my privacy fence. Mac and I became instant friends. He always stopped to visit if he saw me working outside. I have missed him a lot lately and I had no idea he had been sick. Rest in peace dear friend.

Mack aka Cowboy could put a dead stick in the ground and it would grow and bloom. Always was willing to give any gardener a "cutting" and instruct them how to grow the plant. Won many ribbons at Saline County Fair for his plants and displays. Friends had to be careful not to say they liked something they saw at his house else he would want to give it to them. See you in heaven Mack.

We all loved Mack. He loved coming to our house and pampering the horses by brushing them and sometimes riding them
Had chicken at our house once too
He named them and they would let him pick them up and pet them
He has them all named.
