Leslie Anne Stanford Brokeshoulder, age 47, of West Helena, Arkansas departed her earthly home on Friday, November 19, 2021 at her home from natural causes. She was born December 13, 1973 in Helena to Joyce Summerhill Stanford and the late Marlin Leslie Stanford. She held a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Early Childhood Education and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa honor society. Leslie was in charge of Phillips County Angel Tree for 10 years. Leslie loved the King Biscuit Blues Festival and served as beverage chairman for many years. Most of all, she was a loving mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her mother, Joyce Summerhill Stanford of Lexa, Arkansas; husband, Johnny Brokeshoulder; son, Brett Brokeshoulder (Destiny) of Lexa, Arkansas; two daughters, Jewel Brokeshoulder of West Helena and Kira Star Brokeshoulder Gomez (Nick) of Cabot, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Mark Brokeshoulder, Karson, Kylie, and Kashton Gomez; grandmother, Jewel Johnson of West Helena; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her father, Marlin Stanford and grandparents, Russell and Jean Summerhill.
A celebration of life for Mrs. Leslie Brokeshoulder will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 12, 2021 at Fourth Street Baptist Church in West Helena, Arkansas. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, at the church as well.
The family requests that no flowers to be sent.

I was lucky enough to run into Leslie a couple years ago when I was in town visiting my parents. She was just as beautiful then as she was when we were kids. Her heart was her grandkids, that is all she talked about, she had a glow about her when speaking of them. To the family, I am deeply sorry for your loss.
