Joyce Ann Gregory

of Collierville, TN

July 14, 1942 - November 10, 2021

Joyce Hopper Gregory, 79, passed away at her home in Collierville on November 10, 2021.

Mrs. Gregory was born in Heth, AR, on July 14, 1942, and moved to Memphis in 1954 where she went on to graduate from Trezevant High School, attend Memphis State University, and marry S. Ray Gregory in 1962. Mrs. Gregory worked as a bookkeeper for commercial construction for most of her life and was very involved in the National Association of Women in Construction. Over the course of her life, she was active in the Mid-South community through her membership at Rugby Hills Baptist, Bartlett Baptist, and Germantown Baptist Churches. She loved the choir and her Sunday School class and served as class President and Treasurer for many years. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society and was a long-time treasurer of her Oakmont Homeowner's Association.

Visitation will be 2-3 PM, Monday, November 15, followed by a funeral service at 3 PM at Germantown Baptist Church Parlor.

A friend of many, Mrs. Gregory is survived by three sons: Michael R. Gregory and wife Mary of Omaha, NE and her four children, twelve grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren; Timothy L. Gregory and wife Jannica of Memphis and their three children; and James A. Gregory and his wife Heather of Austin, TX and their three children; and two sisters, Jean Burk of Collierville and Lanell Douglas of Frisco, TX.

Memorials may be made to the Germantown Baptist Hallelujah Chorus or a charity of donor's choice.

Miss Joyce was a valued member of the Baptist Hospital Women's Auxiliary. We especially loved the devotions she gave us,. We will always remember. the last one she gave at the August meeting.
