Mary Rue Melton, 77, of Searcy passed away November 6, 2021. She was born on December 4, 1943 in Navarre, Kansas to the late August Martin and Vada Irene Matthews Meuli.
She is survived by her children, James Bell of Searcy, Charles (Melissa) Scott of Ruidoso, NM, Erika Tabb of Dayton, OH; ten grandchildren, Amanda Tabb, Audra Tabb, Amari Black, Makivious (Kivi) Black, Shawn (Karen) Ostrander; Rita Nicole Valasquez, Aaron Trey Voemke, Tamara Collins, Mirrah Bell, Brandie Cleveland and Chisum (grand cat); ten great-grandchildren, Brock, Ketura, Asher, Aaron James, Apharij'ae, Kelsey, Abby, Elizabeth, Hannah, Lilly; one brother, Gus (Dayna) Meuli of Searcy; two sisters, Eloise (Jerry) Oldridge of Sherwood and Nobia Spears of Little Rock along with her nieces and nephews and other extended family members and many friends.
Mary continued her education after high school and completed it by receiving her Doctorate as a Psychological Forensic Pathologist. During her career, she served as hospital administrator for a number of hospitals in New Mexico, worked in clinics with Chemical Dependent patients and was the founder of The Ohio Intervention Center. Through her expertise in her field, she had the privilege to be selected to be on the Dr. Phil Show but the show she was to be on was never aired. Her children knew their mother to be a hard worker. She was known to be a very caring person who would do anything for anyone. She loved her family and one of your favorite past times was she loved to travel. One of the places that she loved to visit the most was Paris and she enjoyed taking cruises with her sisters. Not only did she love her family, she enjoyed cats.
Services will be Visitation at 1:00 PM Saturday, November 13, 2021 followed by the Funeral at 2:00 PM at Crosby Church of Christ in Searcy. Interment will follow in the Marcus Hill Cemetery in Enola, Arkansas. All arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Daniel Funeral Home in Searcy.

So sorry to hear of Mary Rue's passing. Fond memories of you girls . . . band trips, running that dusty gravel road out to Chikasaw . . . all the fun times in McGehee.

Mom Mary, Heaven has gained an angel with a beautiful heart and soul. Thank you for the small talks we use to share from time to time and for my wonderful siblings Erica, Charlie and Jimmy. I remember when you and Mommy would share your laughs and you two were brought together for the love of a child. Thank you for being a part of all of our lives and we will miss you dearly.
