Anna Mae Boozer, 95, of Paragould, passed away Thursday, November 4, 2021 at Belle Meade. Anna was born February 27, 1926 in Greene County, AR to the late Hillbert and Della (Taylor) Smith. She was one of 15 children born to Hill and Della. Mom loved to tell the story of how she weighed two pounds and that she fit into a shoe box. Anna married Mayo Boozer. They were blessed with three children. Anna was a homemaker and a hard worker. She often went on the road with her husband who drove a truck. She loved flowers, gardening, collecting trinkets, and decorating for the holidays. She loved playing Mrs. Claus for the ladies at the Paragould Terrace Apartments. Mama loved her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. She always made her delicious coconut cream pie for Sunday lunch which thrilled her kids. She made sure she had plenty of candy corn for the great-grandkids when they came to visit. Anna was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mayo Boozer; brothers, Willard, Herb and Joe Smith; and sisters, Frankie Greenway, Alberten Gunn, Violet Higgins, Alberta Davis, Renie Levins and Tommy Wince.
Survivors include her daughter, Donna (Gary) Scott of Centerton, AR; sons, Carl (Darlene) Boozer and Charles (Diane) Boozer both of Paragould; brothers, George (Eva) Smith and Doris Mack Smith; sisters, Shirley Crabtree, Sue Romine, Earline Woods; eight grandchildren, Terry Gramling, Steve Gramling, Christy Price, Anna Clark, April Willis, Ryan Boozer, Jeremy Street and Jana Tyler; great-grandchildren, Avery Willis, Lynnlee Willis, Jaren Wooley, Elsa Boozer, Scott Granger, Lacey Price, Jalee Price, Elsie Clark, Brianna Gramling, Chance Gramling, Emma Gramling, Skylar Gramling, Landon Street, Jude Street and Gage Tyler; and two great-great grandchildren, Jasper Price and Norris Gramling.
Funeral services will be 2:30 pm Sunday at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home, 1900 West Washington Avenue in Jonesboro. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Visitation will precede the service beginning at 1:30 pm.

I had the pleasure of being able to care for Anna for quite some time. We went for walks, cleaned out her garden, she told me stories about her trips on the road with her husband and the story of her sleeping in a shoe box. Anna loved her kids and Grandkids and looked forward to seeing them every time one of them would walk through the door. She was precious to me as much as she was to anyone she'd meet especially anyone at Paragould Terrace Apartments. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family may she rest in peace.
