John Wayne Derden, 73, of Little Rock, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at his home. He was born February 25, 1948 in Los Angeles, California to John and Geraldine Derden.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy and a retiree of Chicopee Manufacturing in NLR, Arkansas. He was a kind, gentle man and loved his family and his four-legged best friend, Bosco. He enjoyed learning anything about everything, reading, photography, hiking, and cooking.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Debra, his daughter, Kristen Nolley (Aaron) of Maumelle; his son, Roger Coburn (Julie) of Little Rock; his sister, Patricia Derden of Cabot; his grandchildren, Jonathan and Samuel Coburn, Scarlet and Chloe Bordelon, and Elliott Nolley. A celebration of John's life will be held Monday, November 8, at 2:00 pm at Roller Chenal Funeral Home at 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock AR 72211.

When we were in our late teens John and I became close friends. God gave John a gentle spirit, thoughtful demeanor and a great smile. I never heard him raise his voice. He was a special person and loved by many people.
