Robbie Lee Starkey

of Harrison, AR

September 27, 1931 - November 4, 2021

Robbie Lea Starkey, of Harrison, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, November 4, 2021, at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison, at the age of 90. The daughter of William B. and Gerotha (Drewry) Stewart was born on September 27, 1931, at Bear Creek in Searcy County, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dempsey Starkey; her son, Mitchell Starkey; and her sisters, Jolene Salmon and Georgia Gilchrist.

She was an active and devoted member of Eagle Heights Baptist Church for over 50 years while serving in many areas. Some of her favorite activities included serving on the Hostess Committee, her Sunday School class, and attending Tuesday morning Senior Adult Bible Study. She had an undeniable love for Jesus and enjoyed reading Bible stories to her grandchildren.

Robbie retired from Levi Strauss after working there for more than 20 years. She loved her job because of all the wonderful friends she had made. She spent her retirement traveling, cooking wonderful meals for her family, and spoiling her children and grandchildren. Robbie had a love for Gospel music and playing dominoes. You could find her every Saturday at Dairy Queen with her special group of friends. She will be remembered as a loving, faithful, and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. She was incredibly giving and kind to her family, friends, and those she came in contact with.

Robbie is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Danni and Mike Tucker, of Harrison; her grandson, Scott Tucker and wife Staci, of Harrison; her granddaughter, Courtney Tucker of Harrison; six great-grandchildren, Brandt Tucker, Heath Tucker, Keaton Brown, Halle Miller, KJ Tucker, and Kollin Tucker, all of Harrison; four great-great-grandchildren, Braeden, Caleb, Devin, and Easton, of Harrison; and her sister and brother-in-law, Mary Lou and Jim Shaddox, of Van Buren, Missouri. She is also survived by many special nieces, nephews, and other family members who loved her and will miss her dearly.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff of Hillcrest Home for their love and care.

The funeral service was Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home, with Pastor Glen Crenshaw officiating. Visitation was an hour prior to the service.

Burial was at Maplewood Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Scott Tucker, Brandt Tucker, Heath Tucker, Johnny Campbell, Carl Campbell, David Salmon, and Jim Salmon.

We loved Robbie! My son was her little friend from Dairy Queen and we would always go to Dairy Queen on Saturday’s when we are in town just to see them and we always called them Bentley’s little ladies. She lived to get a big hug from him every time we saw her. She was a great lady and we loved our visits with her. She will be greatly missed.
