March 20, 1943 - November 1, 2021

Winnie Fay Brown, a strong, faithful woman, a loving mother, a doting grandmother, and an avid crafter, passed away peacefully Monday, November 1, 2021 at Conway Regional Hospital surrounded by close and dear family.

Winnie was born on March 20, 1943 to Bud and Opal Bradford in Shirley, Arkansas. She was an industrious student all through her education at Shirley Schools. Winnie made her career at the Arkansas Department of Health in Van Buren County for over 25 years, retiring in 2004.

Winnie was a devoted mother, and her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She loved spending time with her family and friends, sharing stories and jokes with everyone. Winnie could always have a joyful conversation with anyone she met. She was an avid crafter her whole life. Winnie enjoyed quilting, crocheting, sewing, cross-stitching, and embroidery among other crafts. She loved sharing the knowledge of her favorite crafts with everyone. Winnie was a strong Christian woman active in the Choctaw Church of Christ for many years. She attended Clinton Church of Christ as well. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

Winnie is survived by her daughter, Ella Faye Hagemann-Maia; her grandchildren; Mackenzie, Nicholas, and Samuel Appleby, Remy Hagemann-Maia; and many other close family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents; her son, Michael David Brown; and other dear family and friends.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, November 8, 2021 at 2:00PM at Clinton Church of Christ at 184 3rd Street in Clinton with interment at Eglantine Cemetery in Fairfield Bay. The visitation will take place prior to the service beginning at 1:00 PM. The services will be officiated by Richard Kirkland.

Flowers may be sent to Roller-McNutt Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be given to either the Choctaw Church of Christ or the Clinton Church of Christ.

The family of Winnie Brown would like to extend a sincere thank you to the excellent care teams at Conway Regional Hospital and Kindred Hospice for making sure she was comfortable and at peace in her last days.

I worked with Winnie at the Van Buren County Health Department. We were co-workers, but were also friends. Winnie was a talented seamstress and made beautiful crocheted items. I consider it a blessing to have known her. My sympathy to the family for their loss.

Winnie was a friend from day one. I worked with her the better part of 18 years at ADH. She was patient and kind, did her job and did it well. She didn’t laugh often, but when she did, you had to laugh too. My sincere condolences to her family.

I cannot think that a finer Christian woman than Winnie Faye ever lived. No doubt she was welcomed into her eternal home and heard the words, “Well done my good and faithful servant.” There is great rejoicing that she is reunited with her family and friends who have gone before, but great sadness for those who will miss her earthly presence. Prayers for all.

Winnie was a special friend. She lived with us for a few months after the Clinton tornado damaged the roof of her apartment building. She also became a special friend to our two granddaughters.
