September 13, 1948 - November 1, 2021

Brenda Sue Bates, 73, of Alexander, Arkansas passed away on November 1, 2021. She was the daughter of the late Raymon and Carlene Spears.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Bobby, Buster, Tommy, Gay, Geneva, Loretta, Joy, Deloris, June and Pat, and grandsons Dakota Bates and Nicholas Ridgeway.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Willard Bates; children, Butch Bates, Johnny Bates, Tina Collins (Dale), Kim Ragan (Lee Roy), Aaron Bates (Ashton); Grandchildren, Johnny Bates Jr., Corey Bates, Eddie Ridgeway Jr. (Ashley), Andrew Bates (Samantha), Sabrina Halpaine (Dallas), Justin Ridgeway (Robyn), Allison Wilson (Krystale), Jacob Bates (Payton), Josh Ridgeway, Joe Ridgeway (Faith), Sam Vardaman (Lela), Brandon Ragan, Carlen Bates; 15 great grandchildren, sisters, Joan Halsey, Sandy Kirksey (Pete), and Nora Tackett (John).
She was a long-time member of Zion Lutheran Church of Avilla.
She never met a stranger and she brought so much laughter to others. Her favorite holiday was Christmas and she loved collecting toys throughout the year to hand out to the children at the food pantry she volunteered at. She was also known to dress up like Santa to visit patients at the hospital. She loved her family with all her heart. She will be missed by so many.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Arkansas Health Center, Kindred Hospice, and Saline Memorial Hospital for the care that Brenda received.
Visitation for Brenda will be on Sunday, November 7, 2021, from 3 to 5 P.M. at Roller-Alcoa Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Roller-Alcoa Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at 1:30. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park.

Brenda had a wonderful personality, was fun to be around, and was smiling all the time. Couldn't ask for a better sister-in-law. Our hearts go out to her loved ones.

Brenda was such a loving person. She would spend hours with my grandma. I loved to hear them to talk about their shows ( soap operas). Just to her her laugh again would be amazing. Sending all my love to the family
