Pat, we just read your Facebook post about John’s birthday and realized he passed away. We looked up his obituary to find he passed on at the end of October. We are so very sorry we are just now sending our condolences. John was a “character” to say the least. He was always fun and loved so fiercely, whether it was you, fishing, food, family, woodworking, or telling jokes. We miss him just knowing he is not in Arkansas doing those things. Our love to you. If you come to Alabama for a visit, please call. Sue & Jeff

Pat, we are hurting with you, and for you.

As you know John loved to laugh, and to make us laugh as well. Sharing his jokes with Steve on speakerphone usually had us all in stitches, but he did get the occasional group groan when he was in dad-joke mode. Either way we loved sharing humor and smiles with our dear friend.

I’m hoping that you don’t feel alone as you make your way through this valley. Many of us neighbors love you, pray for you, and want to be there for you and with you.

God bless and comfort you.🙏🏻

John and Pat have been wonderful neighbors. Not long after they moved in, John gave us a rocking chair he had made. He made one for all of the neighbors, I have a “John” corner in my family room with that rocker sitting below the cross he made for us. We also have two bowls he made so he will never be forgotten. Pat, our love and prayers are with you, if there is anything we can do, don’t hesitate to ask.

John was a wonderful neighbor and friend to my parents. John had a gift for making furniture and anything out of wood. The rocking chairs he made and gave us all will always be a great reminder of him. May the Lord comfort Pat and their family and friends durning this difficult time. Pat we love you and if you need anything just let Mace family know. Your in our thoughts and prayers. God bless you! John was loved by many. Blessings and my love, Chrissy~

My husband and I were neighbors of John and Pat for several years. Anytime we had the grill lit John would come over and lift the lid to see what was cooking. If he liked it he stayed and ate. If not, he'd go back home. Our boys enjoyed woodworking and fishing with him. Rest well buddy.

John was one of the few folks that could captivate your attention with his wonderful smile and his exciting stories. I think back and still laugh out loud when i recall the events, especially after he had to arrange a bathroom clean up after a visitor didnt quite make it in time.
We could sit there and listen for hours. I hope he is sharing some laughs now somewhere.
Thinking of his family.
