Claud Wesley WattersI am a Veteran.

of Mountain View, AR

August 27, 1944 - October 25, 2021

Claud Wesley Watters of Mountain View, Arkansas, passed away on October 25, 2021 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas at the young age of 77. Claud was born on August 27, 1944 in Stone County, Arkansas to the late Clarence Wheeler Watters and Oneta Belle (Swafford) Watters Bufford.

Claud, better known as Claudie, was a veteran of the United States Army National Guard and a member of Foothills Baptist Church, where he loved attending Bro. Neal Grey's Sunday class. He was an extremely joyful man who always encouraged people with his kindness, sense of humor, and big heart. A blessing to everyone he ever encountered, he never met a stranger and those who knew Claud, knew they had a true friend for life.

Claud was a hardworking man who thrived at fulfilling his dream of working the farm side by side with his wife, best friend and soulmate, Shirley. He both enjoyed and appreciated working with the Soil Conservation Service and County Extension Office for the betterment of the farm. His passion in life was his family whom he held dear to his heart. He enjoyed every minute he spent surrounded by his family and friends whether playing cards, bickering over the last piece of pie, or traveling out West with Fred and Nancy.

Claud is survived by the love of his life, for 55 wonderful years, Shirley Gail (Murphree) Watters; one son, James Cecil Watters; daughter, Sheila Janet (Watters) Rackley and husband JL; three grandchildren, Jonathan Herrington, Kari Brewer and husband Dustin, and Patience Holt and husband Hunter Stone; three great-grandchildren, Hyden Brewer, Emberly Brewer, and Silver Stone, along with many extended family and friends.

Claud was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Wheeler Watters and Oneta Bell (Swafford) Watters Bufford.

Visitation for Claud is Friday, October 29, 2021 from 1:00-2:00 PM at Foothills Baptist Church in Mountain View, Arkansas. Funeral Services will be at Friendship Cemetery at Ben Community near Drasco, Arkansas.

Pallbearers are Jonathan Herrington, Dustin Brewer, Hunter Stone, Thomas Murphree, Tony Watters, and Philip Swafford.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory of Claud Watters to Foothills Baptist Church Building Fund, 19935 Highway 5, Mountain View, Arkansas 72560 or a charity of your choice.
