Mr. John Dorsey Longmire, age 79, died on Monday, October 18, 2021, in Southaven, Mississippi. He was born on August 19, 1942, in Laurel, Mississippi to parents, John Middleton Longmire and Nadine Rackley Longmire.
John is survived by Rhonda Felts Longmire; children, Jonathan Longmire (Arista), Ginny Lawrence (Hal), Dana Langley (Rusty) and Mark Goff; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sisters, Carol Moravec (Vince) and Janice Hanlon (Tom). He was preceded in death by his parents, John Middleton and Nadine Rackley Longmire.
John graduated from Utica High School in 1961 and joined the Air Force shortly after. He later attended the University of Mississippi and graduated with a Bachelor's in Pharmacy. In 1986, he moved to Utica where he was the 3rd generation Longmire to run the Utica Drug Co. He worked as a passionate and dedicated pharmacist in the community for over 20 years. He later moved to Hattiesburg, MS and accepted a position as a pharmacist for Wal Mart, Rite Aid and finally Walgreens where he retired after working as a pharmacist for over 40 years.
John Dorsey Longmire was a great family man and a loving father.
A graveside service is scheduled for November 6, 2021 at 1 p.m. at the Utica Cemetery, Utica, MS. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Mr. Longmire's life.

My brother, Dorsey, and I were blessed with the opportunity to get together for a fun activity once a month after he moved to West Memphis. He was a good man and will be missed greatly by his friends and family.
