Olive Gray, 94, of 1160 Hogan Lane,Conway, Arkansas, passed at her Brookdale residence Friday morning, October 15, 2021. On March 8, 1927, she was born in Narrabri, Australia, to father Horace Henry James Carrington (1889-1967) and mother Olive May Barbara Foxe (1890-1963). Olive married Gordon George Gray on October 26, 1949, at St. Cyprians Church in Narrabri, New South Wales, Australia. In retirement, they traveled the world together. They lived in Australia and Fiji before moving to Fairfield Bay, Arkansas, in 1990, where they owned and managed the local shopping mall. Her husband preceded her in death on August 22, 2002, when they lived in Maumelle, Arkansas.
Olive is survived by her two sons, Peter Carrington Gray of Pine Mountain Club, California, and John Anthony Gordon Gray and wife Kitty of Mayflower, Arkansas. Also, her two grandchildren, Olivia Jane Ravlin and husband Tyler of Mayflower, Arkansas, and Ross Anthony Gordon Gray of Maumelle, Arkansas. Also preceded her in death were brothers, Henry James (Charlie) Carrington and William (Bill) Carrington, both from Tamworth in Australia, and her sisters Emmaline (Mem) Vidler, Amy (Mame) Betts, and Dorothy (Do) Rawlings, all from the Gold Coast in Australia.
After the passing of her husband, Olive relocated to Mayflower, Arkansas, in 2010, where she enjoyed being with her family and watching all the Mayflower Eagles ballgames. Olive was an avid golfer until her mid-80s. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mayflower. Arrangements are made by Roller Mcnutt, Conway, Arkansas.
Her graveside service will be at 2:00 PM on October 24, 2021 at Woodland Memorial Park, Hwy.16 Fairfield Bay, Arkansas. Officiating her service is Pastor Blake Harrell. Pallbearers will be John Gray, Ross Gray, Tyler Ravlin, John Pipkins, Doug Jones, and Mike Burgess. Memorials or donations may be made to Mayflower Schools Athletic Department.
Please accept my condolences on the loss of Olive. She was a lovely lady. We talked politics and she looked at me and smirked, and told me I was just wrong. We laughed together and enjoyed each other's company. That's a gift.
So sorry for your loss! She was an extraordinary woman and all of us at Brookdale will miss her greatly.

We loved Miss Olive with a deep and abiding love. She was always happy, smiling and supportive to my ministry at Mayflower UMC.
She always mentioned Gordon and her entire family. We are sure that she is safely home in the arms of her Savior.
