John Oliver Deichmann

of Scranton, AR

March 28, 1944 - October 13, 2021

John Oliver Deichmann, 77, of Dublin, Arkansas, passed away on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 in Russellville.

John was born on March 28, 1944 in New Orleans, Louisiana to his parents, Oliver B. Deichmann and Genevieve (Gentilich) Deichmann. This is where John met his wife of 57 years, Elizabeth Glee Deichmann and where they raised their three sons. For many years, John worked as a hotel manager for Candlelight Inn and Warwick Hotel and owned and operated J&J Automotive in New Orleans where John resided until moving to Dublin, Arkansas. John quickly made Dublin his new home. John was an active member of Prairie View United Methodist Church. John proudly served as a first responder and volunteer fireman for Scranton and also spent several years working for Scranton School District, where he enjoyed his position as a bus driver. John never met a stranger, loved to make people laugh, and never missed an opportunity to tell a joke to anyone willing to listen.

John is preceded in death by his parents.

John is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Glee Deichmann, his three sons and their wives, Michael and Susan Deichmann, Thomas and Brittany Deichmann, and Kyle and Moon Deichmann, and his seven grandchildren, James, Brooke, Britton, Nina, Bradley, Paxton, and Oliver Deichmann.

A memorial service for John will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 11:00 a.m., at Prairie View United Methodist Church, located at 4532 E State Hwy 288, Scranton, Arkansas.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation PO Box 1848 Longmont, CO 80502

Glee and family we send our love and condolences in this sad time. He was loved and is missed. The man seemed to always be smiling and laughing. Was always willing to help and Loved the Lord. He made a mean bread pudding and the most delicious cheese straws. Our prayers sent to you.
