Essie Pearl (Ramsey) Furlow, age 88, of Sherwood, passed peacefully, Monday, October 11, 2021.

She was born November 21, 1932, in Ingram, Arkansas, to Charles Alexander Ramsey and Laura Luvina (Hayes) Ramsey.

Essie attended the Arkansas School for the Deaf as a child and worked at the school in her adult years in the school's cafeteria and laundry room, finally retiring in 1987. She was an active member of the Deaf ministry at Sylvan Hills Church of Christ in Sherwood.

She always had a smile on her face, very patient in teaching others sign language and was loved by everyone that met her. She had a deep love for her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Edgar, parents, and brother Charles A. Ramsey.

She is survived by two sons, Charles Furlow (Beth) of Jacksonville, James Furlow (Lily), one daughter Christy Furlow, two grandsons, Michael and Alex Furlow all of Sherwood.

Visitation will be held Friday, October 22, 2021 from 6 pm to 8 pm at the Roller-Owens Funeral Home, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd, North Little Rock, Arkansas.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 23, 2021, at 1 pm at Sylvan Hills Church of Christ, 117 W. Maryland Ave, Sherwood, Arkansas 72120. Billy Leavell from Memphis, Tennessee and Bob Acre from Sherwood, Arkansas officiating.

Private interment will be at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Alexander, Arkansas.

The Furlow Family wishes to thank Grace at Home, Seniors Serving Seniors and Baptist Health Hospice for your services and love for our dear mother.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Sylvan Hills Church of Christ Deaf Ministry.

So sorry for the loss of such a beautiful and full of joy lady. I am thankful to her for her patience when signing, especially with my bad receptive skills. But she was wonderful anyway. I will truly miss Mrs Essie.
