Miriam E. Vernor of West Memphis, Arkansas, slipped away quietly at her home early on the morning of Saturday, October 2, 2021. She was born Miriam Ellen Brown on February 10, 1935, in Humphrey, Arkansas, to Jess Evans Brown and Dora Hickey Brown. Miriam was of the Lutheran faith. She was born into a farm family and learned to work hard at an early age. For many years, she was a homemaker and mother, always putting her family first. She loved her ailing husband, Ed, and, for many years, she cared for him. As well, she worked for Delaware North for over thirty years. Those left behind to cherish her memory are her three daughters: Debra Currie, Deana McNeil (Paul) and Regina Pirani (Steve) as well as her two granddaughters and three great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara Volner, along with many nieces and nephews. Miriam was preceded in death by her mother and father, her son-in-law, Steven A. Pirani, and her husband, Z. Edward Vernor, who she met later in life. They made wonderful memories by traveling and hosting delightful family gatherings. She was a strong, practical woman with values she passed on to her daughters. Her talents were many. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. Her lifelong example of compassion, generosity, resilience, patience and love is a true testament to her character. Miriam was an amazing soul whose presence brightened every room she entered. Her family is forever grateful for the time they had with her.The family would like to extend a thank you to Dierksen Hospice for the care they provided with a special "Thank you" to Jaime, Leslie and Norma for their individual care, love and support. The immediate family will be holding a private graveside service and requests that in lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to the following: West Memphis Animal Shelter, 500 South Loop Road, West Memphis, AR 72301, (870) 732-7599. Due to Covid concerns, the family kindly ask that masks be worn for this service.
Regina, Deana & Debbie, We are completely heartbroken over the passing of your precious Mother. We simply adored her. Our hearts hurt but we know that Steve was waiting on his best friend to take her back to meet our Lord and they are rejoicing in HIS presence. We love you sweet ladies always.
