Reading the guestbook shed so much light on Marty during years I didn’t get to share with him…(our shared youth in Egypt was special mainly because he and Aunt Sherry and His cousin Denise were ALL THAT in my eyes)
He and Sarah obviously had a special love for one another and their family and our Lord.
He and his brothers have had such a special bond with their music… and his mom, Fern, an enthusiastic fan…

Sarah and the girls and their families, and Fern and Mitch’ and Bobbie’s families are in my prayers.

Marty was a great source of comfort and reasoning during our loss of Uncle Terry and Aunt Linda. He genuinely wanted to help make sense of something unbelievable. It seems that that was his substance… to help his family and others.

Peace be with his family.
All my love,
Jackie

I want you to know that all the family, Fern, Sarah, the children and grandchildren, are in our thoughts and prayers. He will be missed by so many. I can remember when he first started playing music at the Egypt cafe when we were just teenagers and everyone loved his music back then. He truly had a gift for his music. I also know he was special to our mom since he was her first grandchild. I am sure that Charles had good memories of time spent with Marty when they were young. Marty was blessed in later life with a wonderful wife and loving family. He will truly be missed.

I was a Egypt classmate and close friend . Our paths haven't crossed in many years due to my work taking me many miles from where we grew up.. I will always have fond memories of our childhood years. Marty's smile would light up every room. Even though he was taken to heaven far too soon, it gives us peace knowing he’s in the arms of angels.”

I am so sorry and send my deepest condolences. When I lived in Jonesboro Misty and I were the closest of friends and Mr.and Mrs. Colburn treated me just like family . I’ve had many dinners and spent lots of time in your home. I went on my very first trip to the lake and to Florida with your family. I loved being in the mist of Mr. Marty he was just a cool calm and funny man. Again I am so sorry you are having to experience this loss. I will continue to pray that God be with you all.
