Charles L. "Chuck" Thomas, 67, of Brinkley, Arkansas passed away Friday, October 1, 2021. Charles was born to Charles H. and Maxine J. Thomas at Mercy Hospital in Brinkley, Arkansas.He was baptized in 1967 at First Baptist church where he was a member. Charles graduated from Brinkley High School in 1971, and then joined the United States Marine Corps in 1972. He got to see both oceans and traveled the beautiful smoky mountains during his 4 years of active services. He went to boot camp in San Diego, CA, then was stationed at NAS, then the last 3 1/2 years at Camp Lejeune in NC. He worked in the supply BN and was a trained NCO. The last year he was stationed at the rifle range and was rifle range supervisor. He received many awards and was honorably discharged as a SGT. Chuck started in law enforcement as a patrolman at the Hazen P.D. in 1977. He came back home to Brinkley and worked with the Brinkley P.D. also as a patrolman for 4 years. In 1981 he started as a deputy sheriff for the St. Francis Sheriff's office. In 1983 he was a criminal investigator. In 1987 Chuck went to work for the state of Arkansas as a fraud investigator. He also worked as a Sergeant for the Monroe County Sheriff's department where he stayed until he retired in 2010. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Mark and a lot of favorite dogs. Chuck is survived by his son, Blake Thomas, of Brinkley, Arkansas, daughter, Brittney McDougal (Johnny), of Little Rock, Arkansas, and his guard dogs, SaBear and Sarge, and grand dog, Goose. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at Oaklawn Cemetery at 10:00 A.M. in Brinkley, Arkansas. Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in Marianna has charge of arrangements. Blake, Eddy and I are so sorry to here about your Dad. We are so glad that wehad gotten to know Chuck and are going to miss him stopping by the house. He wasa good friend and the warden as he called me will miss him. God be with you and your family.

So sorry for your loss. I worked with Chuck in SIU in Little Rock. He was a friend and we worked on many cases together. I know he will be missed.
