of Marion, AR
December 11, 1946 - September 11, 2021
With a profound appreciation for a long and wonderful life, we announce the passing of Gilbert Meyer Beaver Sr., 74 of Marion, Arkansas on Saturday September 11, 2021. Gil Beaver was born to Leslie P. Sr. and Bonnie S. Beaver on December 11, 1946 in Memphis, Tennessee.
After serving in the Armed Forces, he met his devoted wife and companion Cherry C. Beaver. During his life long welding career, he owned and operated Beaver Welding Supply, Beaver Fabricating and Repair, Industrial Millwrights and was a welding instructor at Mid South Community College.
Gil was a loving husband and father who had a passion for the outdoors, he loved fishing and hunting. He adored his children and took them hunting and fishing in his ''heirloom'' boat. But he also frequently took them to work with him and they were thrilled at missing school and he loved their company. It was truly a family affair. He liked to cook and grill out for family and friends and his specialty was Jambalaya, which he cooked for our yearly Halloween party.
He was an avid movie buff, both old and new, especially when accompanied by his grandson Colin. He enjoyed yard work and growing plants and flowers and his fruit trees and grapes delighted the neighborhood critters.
Gil was happy when he ''wheeled and dealed'' for most everything. It was only surpassed by his love of welding challenges. Mr. beaver is survived by his wife of fifty years, Cherry Beavers, his two children Gilbert Beaver Jr. and Leigh Beaver Conner (Clyde) and grandson Colin Conner. He leaves his brother Leslie Beaver III and his wife Elaine, nephew Les Beaver IV and niece Kerry Beaver Keith.
A visitation from 10:00AM until 11:00AM hosted by Roller-Citizens Funeral Home of West Memphis will take place for Gil on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at the pavilion located on the grounds of Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion, Arkansas. A presentation of Army Honors will also take place honoring his service to his country.
The family has kindly requested that masks be worn for this visitation due to Covid-19 concerns even though it will be held outdoors at the pavilion located on the grounds of Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion.
Cherry, I just learned of Gilbert’s passing. He was such a pleasant fun loving guy to be around. You and your family are In my prayers. If you are ever in the Jonesboro area please give us a shout. Love, Murray
I do not know where to start. Gil was such a good friend to me since about 1975. We laughed hard and then laughed even harder when we were on one of our "adventures". He was such a positive influence in my life, a true friend, and teacher. We spent a couple of hours together last summer, and I had no idea it would be our last time to see each other. His big smile while he was rubbing his hands together always made me laugh. There were many times when we would have to stop what we were trying to do, to sit down and finish laughing before we could continue. I will miss Gil very, very much. He was one of a kind. If I can ever help Cherry, Gilbert or Leigh Ann, please let me know. I still owe Gil, "one more move".
This is one person that everyone that knew him will miss him! He was such a nice man, a decent father and loving husband. He never met a stranger! We will remember that he was a joy to be around and we pray for his family.
Gil will greatly missed by many, always smiling and talking .He could make a piece of metal do anything but talk . God Bless.

With a sad and heavy heart we cannot find the words to express how much Beaver will be missed.Â
Beaver loved life. He always made you smile and laugh. He had some fantastic life stories. Will miss our weekly conversations and discussions of limitless subjects.
Beaver may be gone from our sight but will live forever in our hearts. We will always remember all the wonderful memories of our friendship and brotherly companionship.Â
May loving memories bring Beaver’s family comfort and peace during these difficult times.Â

Cherri and family,
Gil touched to many lives in this community. Everyone who knew him had nothing but good things to say. That says a lot about the type of man and friend he was to so many, especially my dad, Manuel. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Deeply heartfelt condolences to you.

Cherry,
My boys and I are so sorry about your loss. Gil was such a good friend to Dale and he always spoke so highly of Gil. I can remember so many times Dale would run to the store "for just a couple of things" and three hours later, he would come home and say "I ran into Gil Beaver." You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.
Heaven has gained one of the best! I will never forget Mr. Gil showing me his garden or how welcome he always made Ava and me feel in his home. He had a laugh and smile that was so warm and like no other. I am glad to have met Mr. Gil and to call him our friend. Ms. Cherry, Leigh and Gilbert...we love you guys and will keep you in our prayers.
Rest In Peace Gil. I enjoyed all of our conversations that we had over the years.
Cherry, I was heart broken when I heard the news about Gil. I never dreamed when I visited with y'all a few months ago at Walgreens that would be the last time I would see him. We had a lot of fun when we were neighbors at the old Fountain Head Apts. You and the kids are in my thoughts and prayers. I will see you Tues. Love you, Butch
Wishing you all comfort and peace during this difficult time.
So sorry to hear that Mr “Beaver†has passed. Him and my late husband were good friends. Praying for the family.
Cherry, Gilbert, and Leigh. I’m so incredibly sorry for the loss of Gil. He was so proud of each of you and such a great man. I’ll never forget his tickled laugh, the rubbing of his hands together as he talked with excitement, and lastly, his phenomenal jambalaya. It would clear your sinuses after the first bite! Man, it was delicious! When he spoke, you couldn’t help but grin and be exited about whatever he was talking about too. Take comfort in knowing how special he truly was. The most stubborn joyful man I’d ever met. He was one of a kind. A tremendous loss. My thoughts are with the entire Beaver family.
Cherry,
What a loss for everyone who was lucky enough to cross paths with Gil. Gil always took time for a visit whether he was busy or not, never short on conversation.
I go way back with Gil when he and Leslie were in business together in Memphis.
I’m proud to have called Gil a dear friend!
Cherry, my thoughts & prayers are with you & your family.
Love,
Tommy Oates

Family,
such a shock. when I think of Gill it always puts a smile on my face we had a few great times. we often did Christmas shopping together. once at Dillards he asked the older lady waiting on us if they had long handle under ware for his wife. It took her a long time to locate some (not a thing they normally sell.) she did find some then Gill asked her of they came in crotch less. The old lady lost it! Gill and i laughed about it for weeks! obviously we played around more than really shipping but always had fun. We went to a sporting goods store and were looking at the mounted heads some one had shot in Africa we came across a a small deer that looked about the size of a chihuahua with small horns Gill looked at me and asked what is that Must have been shot it with a B-B pistol! Mr. Dowdle heard us and came over and interrupted us and told us it was a DIK Dik killed in Kenia with a .270. He seemed irritated that we were making jokes about his tiny trophy. Gill commented a .270 you say That explains why you only have the head. Mr. Dowdle just shook his head and walked away Gill was always great fun to be around I will miss him greatly!.
Remembering all the good times we had when you came to blue lake to visit Bob,and mom and dad to eat and fish . You where the kindest loving man I have ever met and will be greatly missed. Prayers for all the family.
My prayers go out to you and your family. I know that your father and husband was a good man and will be missed a lot but keep in mind that he is not feeling no more pain. Gil is in a good place now. May the lord take care of him now, till we are all where he is in the presence heavenly father. May he bless each of his family and friends I the coming days. Till we meet again. Your friend Luther f Simpson sr.
My deepest sympathies for your loss. My family is praying for comfort for you and strength to endure the days to come. May God hold you in His loving arms.
