April 29, 1936 - September 8, 2021

Carl Eugene Melson, 85 of Ozone, passed away Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at his home with his loved ones by his side. Mr. Melson was born April 29, 1936 at Low Gap, AR. to Mr. Jack and Lillian (Bump) Melson. He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Mozelle Atkins and Mildred Turner; brothers: Paul, Elzie, C.W. Virgil and Doyle.

Eugene enjoyed hunting, working on his farm and baseball. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Mr. Melson is survived by his wife of 64 years, Shelby (Brown) Melson of the home; one daughter, Carla and husband Steve Stewart of Ozone; one son, Stephen and wife Amy Melson of Ozone, seven grandchildren, Jordan and husband Bailey Pledger, Jocelyn and husband Rush Cornwell, Stephanie Melson, Kristyn Brown, Caleb Melson, Hayden Brown, and Rylan Melson; numerous nieces and nephews.

An open visitation on Sunday, September 12, 2021 from 2:00 PM- 6:00 PM at Roller-Cox Funeral Home. Mr. Melson's graveside service will be held on Monday, September 13, 2021 at 10:00 AM at the Russell Cemetery with Bro. Mike Sawyer officiating. Bailey Pledger, Ricky Melson, David Melson, Johnny Carlton, Wes Kendrick, Jerry Atkins, Matt Atkins and Caleb Melson will be serving as Pallbearers.

Eugene will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He and Shelby were always willing to help me at any time and I consider them true friends. We will all miss you, Eugene!
