HUNTSVILLE, AL '''' Imogene Hartsfield Hollowell passed away at the age of 90 on Tuesday, August 31, 2021. She was originally from Monroe County, AR, and was a graduate of Marvell High School in Marvell, AR. She was employed by the US Department of Agriculture, retiring after 32 years, as Chief Clerk in the Phillips County Office of the Agriculture, Stabilization, and Conservation Service Office, located in Helena, AR.

Upon her retirement, she moved to Huntsville, AL. In her retirement years, she spent her time participating in Senior Adult activities at Hillwood Baptist Church and later Whitesburg Baptist Church. She also enjoyed travelling and fellowshipping with friends at First Baptist Church and Jackson Way Baptist Church. She was active for 20 years with Chapter 443 of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) located in Huntsville, where she served for many years as chapter greeter and on the refreshment committee.

She also enjoyed spending as much time as she could with her toes in the sand in Pensacola Beach, FL. Over the years, she hosted family and friends at the beach, where she was active in The Beach Church and the Pensacola Beach Women's Club.

She is survived by her son, Monte Hollowell (Jan) of Franklin, TN; two grandsons, Brett Hollowell (Meredith) of Orlando, FL, and Matt Hollowell of Nashville, TN; two great-granddaughters, Lillian Hollowell and Jasmine Hollowell of Nashville, TN; three sisters, Barbara Crisp of Marvell, AR, Julia Carruth of Hot Springs Village, AR, and Toni Thompson of Hernando, MS; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry Hollowell; granddaughter in-law Minal Hollowell; parents Leonard Hartsfield and Annie Kornegay; sisters Elner Crisp and Joan Holloway; and brothers Troy Hartsfield and Vernon Hartsfield.

The family wishes to thank the care partners of HarborChase of Huntsville and the staff of Comfort Care Hospice of Huntsville for their compassionate care. Due to continued COVID pandemic concerns, a memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. Relatives and friends may sign the online guestbook. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to Camp Kesem at https://donate.kesem.org/hollowell . Camp Kesem is the largest national organization dedicated to supporting children impacted by a parent's cancer, at no cost to families. Imogene mourned the loss of Minal and was thankful for the ongoing support the Camp Kesem staff have provided to Lillian and Jasmine.

Hello Monte, sorry to hear of your Mother"s passing last year. When she was at Pensacola Beach she always participated in our Beach Church when I was the pastor. I remember her as a very kind person and a woman of faith.
