James Elbert Adams, age 92 of Oxley, Arkansas passed from this life on Wednesday, August 25th, 2021 at his home. He was born in Flag, Arkansas on March 7th, 1929 to Jacob Grant Adams and Iva Delia Bradshaw Adams.
James was a Korean War Veteran of the United States Army. He was a Master Mason in good standing and member of the Wiley's Cove Lodge #524. James worked as a sawmill operator for many years and later became a car salesman. He enjoyed being outdoors. He especially enjoyed gardening, caring for and mowing his yard and whittling. James also liked to squirrel hunt. His strong presence will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Bernell Passmore Adams of the home; son, Greg Adams and wife Paula of Marshall; daughters, Kathie Sutterfield of Hector and Gail Adams of Marshall; grandchildren, Suzanne West (Daniel) of Boston, MA, Kelly Loomis (Kenneth) of Centerton, Cory Sutterfield (Holly) of Bentonville, Bradley Sutterfield (Brooke) of Plainview, Dustin Adams of Leslie and Kaleb of Beebe; great-grandchildren, Ruby Patton, Ollie Loomis, Elliott Loomis, Cole Sutterfield, Nathan Sutterfield, Aubrey Adams, Paislen Graham, Lucas Adams and Shalynn Graham; and one brother, Deris Adams (Peggy) of Marshall.
James is preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Iva Adams; and one sister, Jolene Housley.
Graveside services for James will be 10:00 AM Friday, August 27th, 2021 at Kuykendall Cemetery near Leslie with Bro. Bill Derickson officiating. Friends and family will serve as bearers.

We lost a good man and a good friend. James has been a friend of ours, both Loretta's and mine for a long long time.
Just found out today (SAT). They sure don't make them like him and the whole bunch of cousins anymore. As is always the case I wish I had seen more of him. It was always entertaining. My sorrows to all of you. God Bless.
