Dear Varsha, Megha and Sarah:

I am deeply sorry for your great loss. I am also extremely saddened on losing a very dear friend with whom I had a very long association. I can still vividly remember the two days in 1984 that I spent with Dr. Kaushal sight seeing in and around New York City.

Dr. GP Kaushal was not only a true friend but also a kind, considerate and loving human being. Dr. Kaushal was very passionate about the advancement of science and mentoring others.

Dr. Kaushal’s gentle manner and the enduring smile on his face will always remain etched in my memory. Rest In Peace, “GP” my friend. I will continue to honor and celebrate your great life and your accomplishments. That I think will be a great tribute to our friendship.

Sad to say goodby to Kaushal, a legend of his own kind & true friend, dedicated, cheerful & always ready to help & considerate for others. I vividly remember him working in the lab late evenings running his favourite chromatography like there is no tomorrow!
The last I saw Kaushal when he got married to Varsha in 81-2(?) & then on a phone perhaps in Chicago.
You will be missed dearly mate by all of us & your caucus 77 group

I remember Dr Kaushal as a thorough gentleman. During my PAU days I approached him more than once for help and he never disappointed me. I was overjoyed when I heard that he is marrying my lab mate Varsha Dhingra.
I wish him peace in the heavens after a successful stint on this earth. You will always be remembered with love and affection !

I have lot of fond memories of spending time with GP. He was member of our group called"CAUCUS 77". We all participated in Diwali mela and put of stall of lucky 7 a game of cards . We earned good amount and our leader Dr Marwaha arranged a beer party and we all enjoyed and dance I remember that GP was shy guy but that day he also danced. Many a times we sat on golf ground and spread white hankerchief to collect money and have beer together in the evening. Recently we all got connected and I thought we all will meet but GOD has different planning . He wanted GP with him. I pray to almighty to keep GP close to him so that all family members rest assured that he is in safe hands. Versha in this hour of grief we all with you and this realty we all have to accept.

I was devastated to hear of this sad news of Dr. Kaushal's passing. His pioneering work in the field of acute kidney injury was seminal and I along with my trainees learnt a tremendous amount from his work and interactions during annual meetings of the American Society of Nephrology. May his soul rest in peace and praying that his family has all the strength during this difficult time.

I have numerous memories to cherish which I had with my elder brother by three years ever since our common shared childhood from 1954 -55 to 1966 when he left our ancestral house for DAV, Jullundhar, Panjab India. His various interactions with me till his last moments of his consciousness haunt me and will continue to do so till the last breath of my life! Om Shanti!

Dear Varsha and family,
I am so sorry for your loss. From the time I worked with GP, I remember him to be very kind and helpful to colleagues in our Division. He had tremendous knowledge in the fields of biochemistry and cell biology, which he shared freely with so many of us. I especially appreciate the time he spent with me discussing these topics. He was a hard working individual very committed to science. I will always remember him fondly. You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.
