Sanford P. Williams Jr., 77, of North Little Rock, passed away August 11, 2021. He was born on Aug 6th, 1944 in El Dorado AR.
Mr. Williams is preceded by his parents, Sanford P. Williams Sr., and Willie Mae Thurlkill Williams.
Survived by his sister, Sue Tucker (Gerald); niece, Heather Eubanks (Shane), nephew, WM Pippin; grandnephew, Conner Eubanks; grandniece Quincy Eubanks, cousin, Jeanine Lundy (Dutch), and Sarah Lundy Middleton.
Sanford was a graduate of the North Little School Class of 1962. After serving with an Honorable Discharge from the United States Army he went on to serve 28 years with the Corps of Engineers, primarily working on locks and dams system on the Arkansas River. Awarded the American Red Cross certificate of Merit, the highest ARC honor given to individuals who save or sustain life, by the Red Cross, for saving a woman who fell from a boat into a lock at the dam site.
Sanford was known to many people in the community as the guy who would give anyone who needed it, the shirt off his back. Loved by literally hundreds in central Arkansas.
A Memorial Gathering in his honor will be held on Thursday, August 26th, 2021 at the White Water Tavern, 2500 W Seventh St., Little Rock, AR, 72205, from 4:00pm until 7:00pm. Anyone who knew him is encouraged to attend. The gathering will pick up at Four Quarter Bar in North Little Rock from 7:00pm until close in his honor.
