Aubrey Lee Davis ''Mert'' March 4th, 1928 - August 23rd, 2021
Aubrey Lee Davis ''Mert'' went to be with the Lord on August 23rd, 2021, after blessing his family and friends for 93 years. Growing up he discovered his passion for music and carried on the family tradition of playing the drums. He loved jazz music and in his later years he could be found playing the harmonica on the front porch.
He worked on the Railroad for over 40 years and made many wonderful friends. One friend said that he never heard Mert say anything mean to someone in all the years they worked together.
Mert loved food, fishing, and hunting. He was an artist and handyman. His son would often say when his Dad fixed something it was better than the original. But more than hobbies -Mert's real passion was for his family.
He was married to the love of his life; Patsy Joy Smith for 72 years. He dearly loved his son, 5 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren. He was a great
example of a son, husband, father, grandfather and Christian.
He is survived by his wife Patsy Davis, son Bruce (Cindy) Davis, Grandchildren: Rachael (Daniel) Zecher, Solomon (Aidan) Davis, Jeremy (Kathryn) Davis, Micah Davis, and Nathanael Davis; Great Grandchildren; Ada, Cora, Eleanor Zecher, and Bliss Davis.

Patsy and family, I am so saddened to learn of Mert’s passing. We know he is with Jesus and in no pain. I have always thought so much of Mert, always a big smile and always got a hug. I am so sorry I won’t be able to attend his service due to Peggy’s being at same time. My thoughts and prayers are with your family. Love you all

Mr. Davis was one of my dad's(Clovis "CT" Fleming) closest friends at MoPac and he talked about him often.
