Harry (Jim) Brummett, age 85, passed away August 12, 2021. He was born January 11, 1936, in Little Rock, AR to Harry and Rae Brummett.
Jim was a graduate of North Little Rock High School. He Joined the Navy immediately after high school and later obtained his Master's degree in psychology.
He enjoyed a long career as an employee for the State of Arkansas. Jim was sensitive, eclectic, a loyal friend and a loving father who will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter.
He is survived by his daughters Nikki Burt (Kevin), Lee VanEnk (Glenn), one brother Tommy Brummett, as well as three grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
Jim was one of the first people I met when I moved to Arkansas 30 years ago. He was so friendly and we became instant best friends.
He was one of my first acupuncture patients and one of my biggest advocates in support of my new practice. His encouragement helped me to be successful and I always appreciated that.
Jim as well as being a wonderful psychologist for many years ( he really cared for others) he was knowledgeable in so many other subjects …
Gourmet cook, wine connoisseur, fine art collector, history buff, astrology, metaphysician, animal lover, movie buff, he could entertain on numerous subjects.
Jim had the finest taste in everything very classy gentleman but not pretentious, friendly to all.
Kindhearted and fun too.
I laughed so much with Jim. The world will be a sadder place without Jim but heaven will be a lot more fun.
I will miss you dear friend…God Bless you I am thankful you chose me as a friend I’m a better person from knowing you.
I have enjoyed visiting with Jim over the past few years at our class lunch gatherings. He and I were members of the NLR high school 1954 Senior Quartet with Juan Woodcock and Shelby Garvin. Dorothy Bridenthal was the choir director and pianist for the quartet. Many fond memories. May God's peace and comfort abide with his family and loved ones. RIP my friend.
Dad. My life is forever changed
Jim and I were close friends and we spent many good times together from junior high school through our college years. We maintained close contact and spent many days attending the casinos and other memorable events. We continued our close friendship until his passing. I will miss visiting and talking with him and remembering the good times we had through the years. RIP friend.
Jimmy and I were roommates our first year at Hendrix College. A good friend and companion through high school. He was very popular in high school. Thankful for being his friend. Prayers and blessings.
