T.G. (Thomas George) Brown was born on October 26, 1925 in Gainesville, Texas and died on August 19, 2021 in Searcy, Arkansas. He was the youngest child of Charley and Ovella Brown, originally from Mt. Pleasant, Arkansas. In the late 1930s he moved with his parents from Texas to the Coachella Valley in Southern California. During WWII, he served in the Navy in the Asiatic Pacific on the USS Darke. After the war he returned to the Coachella Valley and worked at the James E. Wright, Jr. Water Well Drilling Company. He married Leona LaRue Cox on August 6, 1949, in Yuma, Arizona. With James Wright he founded the Desert Water Well Drilling Company in the 1960s. He sold his interest in that business and purchased a property near Searcy, Arkansas where he settled with his wife and two of his children in 1980. Over the past 40 years he raised cattle, tended a vast garden, hunted and fished and enjoyed the company of his family.
He is preceded in death by his beloved LaRue.
He is survived by his son Glenn Brown (Debra) of Searcy, Arkansas; three daughters, Gail Browne (Frances) of Phoenix, Arizona, Karen Brown Mason (Frank) of San Rafael, California, Kimberly Talley (Steve) of Searcy, Arkansas; six grandchildren: Justin Talley (Amanda), Miranda Mason (Lance), Joshua Talley (Meagin), Tyler Brown, Christian Berk (Stephanie), Lauren Forbis (Sam); six great-grandchildren: River, Mason, Beau, and Madden Talley, Camden and Alyssa Mason; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services are scheduled for Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at 2:00 PM at the Roller-Daniel Funeral Home Chapel.
