Violet Thomas

of West Memphis, AR

January 27, 1937 - August 18, 2021

In Loving Memory
Violet Louise Thomas, passed from this life on August 18, 2021.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie B Darby and Idell Lockley; her loving husband, Edward "Mann" Thomas; her brothers, Willie David Darby, Edward Darby, and Jerry Darby; her sister, Betty Bond; her grand sons, Christopher Thomas and Cody Thomas; and her great-grandchild, Erin Rhea Thomas.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Lela Daniels and Martha Ann Anglin; her sons, Bobby Thomas, Danny Thomas and Jeff Thomas; and her daughters, Violet Williamson, and Janice Davis; her two nieces, Karen Simmerson, and Sharon McClendon; as well as 12 grandchildren; and 26 great grandchildren.
In 84 years, she did what most people do in two lifetimes.
She married her one true love at the age of 16.
She worked in the cotton fields, factories, retail positions at the dollar store and Walmart and sub elementary teacher.
She held one of her most cherished positions as a '' pink lady'' at Crittenden Hospital where she met life long friends that she dearly loved and cherished. Her passion was working for God. She served as former superintendent of her church and taught children's Sunday school where she changed children's lives forever. She loved her BIG family. She was the happiest when her family was gathered around her. She was a prayer warrior for every child, grandchild and great grandchild..
The family would like for you to remember their mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend as someone who lived life to the fullest and is now in the arms of Jesus. She would want you to have eternal life so she can see you in Heaven.

Visitation will be held at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, August 23, 2021 at 10:00am, with services immediately following.

I'm so sad to hear this. Ms. Violet was my patient in West Memphis and seeing her always brought me so much joy. She always remembered the small details I would tell her and we had the best conversations about her kids and grandkids. I hope that she is loving heaven because she was always such an angel.
