Mary Frances Mallett

of Harrison, AR

November 14, 1952 - August 14, 2021

Mary Frances Mallett, age 68, of Harrison, left this earth on Saturday, August 14, 2021. She was born November 14, 1952, in Harrison, the daughter of Cale and Vincel Brockman, who preceded her in death.

Mary is survived by her son, Justin Mallett, and his wife Sandera; her daughter, Kari Richards, and her husband Christopher; her four grandchildren that were her world, Wyler, Darby, Adison, and Christian. Gram loved playing, crafting, and teaching the kids by showing no mercy with board games. Besides her children, Mary is survived by her brothers, Cale Brockman, Lonnie Brockman and his wife Ethel, and Billy Brockman and his wife Belinda; as well as a host of family and friends.

Mary was a 1971 Harrison High School graduate. She went on to earn her BA from John Brown University and her Masters from the University of Arkansas. She was awarded a NorthArk staff award in 2018 and retired from North Arkansas College in 2019.

Mary had been a long-time member of Grubb Springs Baptist Church where, aside from her attending, teaching, and treasury duties, she was indeed one of those who carried the church that she loved so much.

"If we pray, we will believe, if we believe, we will love, if we love, we will serve. The fruit of service is peace." Mother Teresa

Our mother is now in peace with her Father and Savior.

The Memorial Service was Friday, August 20, 2021, at Grubb Springs Baptist Church, with Bill Beach officiating.

I am so thankful for Mary. She trained me into her position at Northark when she retired. She was so intelligent, organized, and detail orientated. She left the best notes and directions for me to learn this difficult job. She definitely left some big shoes to fill when she retired, but was so patient and kind when training me. Thank you Mary, for being a great mentor, role model, friend, and teaching me the word "rigamarole". My thoughts and prayers to her family.

I worked with Mary for many years at Northark and had the pleasure of seeing her enjoying her free time in retirement browsing thrift stores and making crafts. When I worked with her on the Center Campus, Mary always had a smile on her face and was eager to share news about her family and what they had been up to. She was so proud of her family and I looked forward to hearing about where they were and what they are doing. She will be missed dearly. I'm praying for God's peace during this difficult time for your family. The Northark family is sending big hugs and kisses to you all.

Mary was a good friend and I will miss her a lot. I have many good memories of funny comments, office gatherings, lunches, and conversations. Anyone who worked closely with her will agree that her beautiful handwriting deserves to be added to the Font Library. She loved her family, children, and grandchildren and always took time to ask about us and our families - especially once you joined her in the grandparent role. We are so sorry for your loss and will continue to pray for your family.

My sincere sympathy to your family. Mary welcomed me nine years ago when I started at Northark and I felt I've known her my entire life. She was a Godly woman with many talents, she was very creative, she encouraged those in the education field and was a sister in Christ to many. I will miss her smile and uncanny sense of humor. Love you, my friend, Mary.

Kari, Justin and family,
Mary was not only a colleague of mine for over 24 years but she was a precious friend. We loved talking about all of you kids and school back in the days when you were in school. Then we both began the amazing journey of grandchildren. Mary beamed when she spoke of all of you and her love for Jesus was astounding. She showed His love to all who were Blessed to be near her. No one was ever a stranger and her laugh was contagious. I will forever feel Blessed to have known her and all of you are in our thoughts and prayers.
Lots of love in Christ,
Rose Family

Mary was a very kind and loving lady. I worked with her for years at Northark and she was always the most helpful, sweet person. I was always amazed by her perfectly organized office, while my desk was always piled, Mary's was perfection. She always made time to talk and support her coworkers and friends. I know you will miss her and I will be praying for your comfort.

I worked with Mary for a short time at North Arkansas College, while I did not know her as well as some, she was always very nice, and I will NEVER forget what great penmanship she has. Many interoffice envelopes that float around North Arkansas College campus, have Mary's beautiful writing on them, and every time I catch a glimpse, I am reminded of Mary. You can clearly see she was a very loved person, by many people, all over the state, and even in other states, if you take a glance at the signatures left. Thoughts and prayers go out to loved ones.

It was a blessing that Mary and I worked in the same department, though not campus, for approximately seven years before her well-deserved retirement from Northark. I always felt a kinship with her in Christ. I also have fond memories of the parties and games she planned for our department. Her family and other friends have been in my prayers; may God's arms surround you in love and comfort during this difficult time.
