Virginia Mae Kellum Grenlund, age 84, of Everton, Arkansas, passed away Friday, August 6, 2021, at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison. She was born April 2, 1937, in Milford, Iowa, to Fred and Genevieve (Lambertus) Kellum.
Virginia was a longtime member of the Evangel Assembly of God Church in Western Grove and was most recently attending Oak Lane Freewill Baptist Church. She married Orlie Utley in 1955, having five children from this union. She was an Air Force wife for 20 years, making a new home for her family every three to five years as they were transferred from base to base, spending 3 years in England as well. She worked for H & R Block for 24 years retiring in the spring of 2021. She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing games on her computer and challenging herself with crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed watching British murder mysteries.
Virginia is survived by five children and their spouses, Roxy Schroeder of Everton, Danny and Valerie Utley of Blue Springs, Missouri, Regine and Jim Reinstein of Abilene, Kansas, Donny Utley of Chesapeake, Virginia, and Roberta and Rick Gilmore of Perris, California; two sisters, Jeanette (Gale) Utley of Everton and Lois (Robert) Perkins of Guy, Arkansas; her sister-in-law, Margaret Kellum, of North Platte, Nebraska; eleven grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Dale Kellum; her sister, Joyce Sweet; and her son-in-law, Jerry Schroeder.
A memorial service was Thursday, August 12, 2021, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home with Rev. Dorvin Ricketts officiating. Visitation was one hour prior to the service.
Interment was in Western Grove Cemetery.
