Walter Sylvanus Jones, Jr., age 69, of Mountain Home, Arkansas passed away on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at his home. He was born October 15, 1951 in Des Arc, Arkansas to the late Mary Ella Stacy Jones and Walter Sylvanus Jones, Sr. Walter was of the Baptist faith and worked as a River Boat Pilot for over 40 years. He enjoyed reading, watching westerns, hunting, fishing, and taking care of his dogs.
He is survived by his two God daughters, Cindy Brower (Gary) of West Plains, Missouri and Kristen Pedersen (Chet) of Mountain Home; four grandbabies, Samantha Lamb (Nathan), Mackenzie Pedersen, Blake Pedersen and Avery Pedersen; four brothers, Michael David Jones of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Marcus Eugene Jones (Dody) of Franklin, Arkansas, Rex Van Jones (Lydia) of Marvell, Arkansas and Johnny Ray Jones of Lexa, Arkansas; a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Linda Jones; parents, Mary and Walter Jones, Sr.; daughter, Mary Elizabeth Jones; two sisters, Rosemary Lorene Jones and Sandra Gail Cavette.
A funeral service for Mr. Walter Jones, Jr., will be held at 3:00 p.m., on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in West Helena, Arkansas. Visitation will be held prior to the service at 2:00 p.m. at the chapel as well. Burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Brother Rex Jones will officiate.
Pallbearers are Colin Barnett, Austin Scott, Nathan Lamb, Lewis Peeples, Gary Brower and Mike Fogleman.
