Virginia Waldo

of Parkin, AR

February 4, 1937 - July 27, 2021

Adeline Virginia Osborne Waldo passed away quietly in her sleep on July 27, 2021, at the age of 84. She was born in Parkin, Arkansas on February 4, 1937. She was preceded in death by her parents Greek and Elizabeth (Wright) Osborne, her brother J.L. Osborne and John Waldo, her husband of 41 years.

Virginia was a longtime resident of Parkin. She loved her hometown, her High School, cheering for the Tigers and playing basketball for the Tigerettes. Later, she would become a substitute teacher in Parkin. She left teaching to work for the Postal Service as a Rural Letter Carrier, where she traveled the back roads of both Earle and Parkin. Her mail route was one of the longest in the nation but she loved the work and the families she served. Virginia was a lifetime member and Sunday School teacher for the First Baptist Church of Parkin. She loved flowers and was a member of the Garden Club. She was a friend to so many and will be greatly missed, especially by her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Jo Clemmer and husband Vince; her son, Johnny Waldo; three grandchildren, Stuart Skiles, Nikki Skiles and Kaleena Clifton; one great grandchild Dirk Reynolds; one aunt, Gloria Wright Green; sisters-in-law Mary Mullins Osborne, Shirley Day Waldo and Shirley Marks Waldo; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be sent to the Parkin First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 797, Parkin, Arkansas 72373.

Service Note- Due to the hot weather conditions expected, all events for the service will end at the Roller Citizens Chapel. There will be no procession to the cemetery.

Friends from our first day in the First Grade at Parkin School and graduated from the high school together, We shared lots of activities and events throughout those years. She remained a loyal friend the entire 78 years of our life. My heart breaks knowing I can not pick up the phone and hear her voice. I treasure all the laughs, shared sports, and shared notes as we studied and stressed over acing our exams in high school. The basketball away games, tournaments, and cheer were always filled with laughter, fun and friendship. I will forever be grateful for the "sister" I had for all of our years
