Hershel F. King, 96, of Mountain View, Arkansas passed away on Monday, July 26, 2021 at home in Mountain View, Arkansas. Hershel was born on April 25, 1925 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma in a covered wagon to the late Henry and Ollie King. Hershel served his country as a veteran of the United States Air Force in World War II. Hershel married Peggy Canant on December 17, 1946 and enjoyed their life together for 70 years. Hershel was a member of White Water Missionary Baptist Church and worked for Dover Elevator Company in Memphis, Tennessee. Hershel will be missed by all of his loving family and friends.

Hershel is survived by his nieces and nephews as well as many loving church family and friends.

Hershel was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Ollie King; his wife, Peggy King; and only son, Duane Eddie King.

Visitation for Hershel will be Wednesday, July 28, 2021 from 1:00-2:00 PM at White Water Missionary Baptist Church in Mountain View, Arkansas. Funeral services will follow the visitation beginning at 2:00 PM with Brother Phil Sutton officiating. Hershel will be laid to rest next to his wife Peggy at the Historic Cemetery of Mountain View in Mountain View, Arkansas.

Military Honors rendered by the Stone County Honor Guard.

Pallbearers are David Powell, Hugh McGaughey, Odes Sutton, Duane Gilbert, Wayne Russell, and Jack Duke.

Roller Crouch Funeral Home in Mountain View, Arkansas is in charge of the arrangements.

I am so sorry to hear of Mr. King's passing. I can only take comfort in knowing that he is with Mrs. Peggy now and they are together again. I will keep the family in my thoughts and prayers.
