Janice Sue Rickett nee Akin of Little Rock, Arkansas was born November 7, 1944 in Monett, Missouri. She went to be with the Lord July 16, 2021. Janice was the eldest of seven children born to Vester and Evelyn Akin.
She earned a bachelor's degree from Harding College in 1966 and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in the late 1990s. She worked as a homemaker, a food services supervisor at Arkansas Children's Hospital and a financial advisor at American Express Financial Services. She was a lifetime member of the church of Christ.
In 1965, she married John D. Rickett of Moody, Missouri and to that union, five sons were born. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
She is survived by her six siblings, Bill Akin of Kansas City MO, David Akin of Lees Summit, MO, Martha Marshall of Greely, CO, Barbara Mears of Leavenworth, KS, Nancy Kane of Leavenworth, KS and Jeannie Sikes of Edmond, OK, her sons, Paul Rickett and wife Lisa of Conway, AR, Mark Rickett and wife Kimberly of Little Rock, AR, Daniel Rickett and wife Rayne of Traskwood, AR, James Rickett and wife Catherine of Texarkana, TX, and Steven Rickett and wife Sara of Bryant, AR, grandchildren Hayden, Brandon, Caleb, Emily, Alyssa, Ethan, Benjamin, Nathaniel, Henry, Charlotte and William (arriving soon) and innumerable nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on July 31 at 11:00 am with visitation at 10:00am at Pleasant Valley Church of Christ in Little Rock.

She was a wonderful cook and seamstress. She was also so thoughtful; she even handmade a quilt for our adopted daughter. She will be missed!
