Kenneth A. Smith, 101, was born February 25, 1920 at Short, AR to Dan and Noma Cherry Smith. He passed from this life July 16, 2021.

Kenneth was in the United States Army from 1942 to 1945. In World War II he was at the beach in Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge in Belgium. He received the French Legion of Honor medal for his part in liberating France.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 75 years, Mabel Ruth Smith, brother Naron Smith, sisters, Lois Ray, Chloe Stahle, Leda Burns, and Iva Crosby and great grandson, Zee Lyn Norman.

Survivors include two sons, Gary (Rena) Smith and Jimmy (Julia) Smith all of Searcy; six grandchildren, Kyle (Ann) McDoniel of California, Bridget (Brad) Clevenger of New Mexico, Khara (Brian) O'Connell of Fayetteville, Clint (Melissa) Smith of Benton, Ben (Natasha) Smith of Searcy and Angie (Kyle) Norman of Clay; ten great grandchildren, Max and Kate McDoniel, Aiden & Mia Clevenger, Emmett and Gracie O'Connell, Kyler, Jax and Kodi Norman, and Zeb Smith.

A private graveside service is planned for Wednesday, July 21,2021 at 11:00AM for the family and close friends at Howell Cemetery at Clay, Arkansas.
