Peggy June Teague

of Atlanta, GA

February 29, 1936 - July 17, 2021

Peggy J. Teague, 85, of Atlanta, Georgia, peacefully passed away July 17, 2021 at her home at King'sBridge Retirement Community. She was born February 29, 1936 in Etta, Mississippi to the late John and Myrtle Gafford Dyson.

Peggy married Max D. Teague on May 4, 1956 in Frayser, Tennessee. She was a loving mother of two daughters, Janice and Candace, devoting herself to their many music lessons and church activities.

She worked as an office clerk in Sikeston, Missouri and for the City of Liberty, Missouri. She and Max were very active church members in different cities where they moved for his work. She loved to sing in the choir in each church.

Peggy was most happy enjoying relationships with family and friends. She and Max often hosted friends in their home for evenings of laughter and good food. She loved to cook meals or bake goodies for neighbors and friends, often treating them with homemade brownies.

In 2019 she moved to King'sBridge Retirement Community in Atlanta to live near her daughters. Her friendly nature thrived there where she was known for her hallway greeting, ''Hey, honey!'' The residents and staff of King'sBridge will miss her.

Peggy was pre-deceased by her parents, John and Myrtle Dyson, her husband of 58 years, Max D. Teague, and her sister Lywonea Kelley. She is survived by her daughters Janice (Greg) Smith, and Candace Teague; her brother Johnny Dyson (Brenda), and sister Charlene Rogers, two grandsons Jordan Smith (Jamie) and Clayton Jelinek, and two great grandsons Maxwell Smith and Wyatt Smith.

Visitation will be held Saturday, July 24, at 1:00 p.m. with funeral services held at 2:00 p.m. at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home of West Memphis, Arkansas. Interment will follow at Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion, Arkansas.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made in her memory to King'sBridge Retirement Community, 3055 Briarcliff Road, NE, Atlanta, GA 30329.

We are sad we won't be able to attend Peggy's service. She became part of our family
as the years went by, and we have some pretty sweet memories of our times together.
Max was special to us also, and we surely miss them! Much love and prayers to each of you
as you lay Ms. Peggy to rest. Our hearts will be with you in spirit
Love,
Donnie and Jana Owen
