Charles Omer Shirley, 89, of Marianna, Arkansas passed away Thursday, July 15, 2021. He was born Thursday, March 24, 1932 to Omer Shirley and Starlie Coffman Shirley in Moro, Arkansas.
He is survived by one son, Andrew Russell (Melanie), two daughters, Debbie Shirley, Shuana Strecker-Metz, four grandchildren, Wesley Shirley (Kathy), Drew Russell, Ethan Russell, Rooks Metz, and one great-grandchild, Chase Shirley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Dena Shirley and one sister, Naomi Allen.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to The Marianna Dog Pound, 130 Robertson Avenue, Marianna, Arkansas 72360.
No services are scheduled at this time.

Debbie, was so sorry to hear of the loss of your Father. It is hard to give them up but we always have our memories of them that can not be taken away from us. It helps daily that we know that we will see them again some day. Love you and prayers be with you.

Always liked and admired Charles. To me, he was "The Pontiac Man." I was told that he would race a friend from Marianna to Haynes, and at 120 mph, he would pull up alongside his friend and "Goose it", letting him know that he had more speed left. So sad to hear of his passing.
