Wayne Fant, 77, of Mountain View, Arkansas passed away on July 13, 2021 surrounded by his family at White River Medical Center in Batesville, Arkansas. Wayne was born on November 10, 1943 in Moultrie, Georgia to the late Eugene Lester and Ruby (Whittle) Fant. Wayne proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and retired from the Memphis Fire Department after many years of dedicated service. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Timbo, Arkansas. Wayne was also a "collector of curiosity" and loved antique cars, tractors, and Civil War History. Wayne was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, and brother who will be greatly missed by all of his loving family and friends.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sharon Marquess Fant of the home; one son, Jerry Wayne Fant and wife Julie Worrell of Rosamond, California; one brother, Jeril Fant and wife Aina of Rossville, Tennessee; one grandchild, Christopher William Worrell and many extended family and friends.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Ruby (Whittle) Fant.
Visitation is Friday, July 16, 2021 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Church in Timbo, Arkansas. Funeral services are Saturday, July 17, 2021, 10:00 AM also at Calvary Baptist Church in Timbo, Arkansas with Brother Danny Robbins officiating. Interment is at Flatwoods Cemetery in Mountain View, Arkansas.
Pallbearers are David Land, Lee McGee, Clay Stricklen, Steve Weatherford, and Larry Sowers. Honorary pallbearers are Ron Pickers, Mike Burrier, and Dennis Bailie.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a donation to the charity of your choice.
Roller Crouch Funeral Home in Mountain View, Arkansas is in charge of the arrangements.
I'm so sorry to read about Wayne. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time. Wayne was always good to me and I will always remember him as a kind soul.
