Kirby Janis Hughes, 72, of Lavaca, Arkansas passed away on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at her home.
She was born on January 22, 1949 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Raymond Jasper Walker and Lilly Bell (Powell) Rhea. She was a homemaker and worked for Rheem Manufacturing Company in Fort Smith as their first lady lead person and foreman. Kirby loved to collect dolls and working in the flower garden in her yard, singing and doing snap chat videos with her granddaughter. She was a very loving, caring and hard working mother who would do anything possible to take care of her children. She always put them first even to the point of doing without so that they wouldn't have to.
She is preceded in death by her above mentioned parents; her husband, John Hughes; one brother, Micky Walker and one sister, Sydney Myrtle Rhea.
She is survived by her son, Mark Freeman and wife, Carla of Lavaca, Arkansas; one daughter, Pamela Taylor of Lavaca, Arkansas; three brothers, Nathan Walker and wife, Shirley of Dayton, Arkansas, Archie Walker and wife, Ruth of Booneville, Arkansas and Rob Roy Rhea of Mansfield, Arkansas; one granddaughter, Katy Freeman; several other family members and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m., on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at Roller Funeral Home Chapel in Paris.
Graveside Funeral Service and Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at Pleasant Grove Cemetery near Mansfield.
Funeral service arrangements are under the direction of Roller Funeral Home in Paris.
Kirby was a wonderful woman. I took care of her as well as her husband for about 4 years before they moved away. I was not aware of her passing until recently. Rest in so much peace Mrs. Hughes. I love you
