of Marion, AR
April 3, 1928 - July 9, 2021
Hiram Renfroe of Marion Arkansas died July 9, 201 at home surrounded by his loving family. Hiram was a member of the First United Methodist Church of West Memphis, Arkansas since 1955.
He was preceded in death by his parents George and Theresa Renfroe, his three sisters, Sue Swan, Jerry Finney and Marion Gallagher and one grandson ''Peanut Renfroe''. Hiram is survived by the love of his life Marilyn Renfroe of Marion, Arkansas, two sons, Rand Renfroe of Marion, Arkansas, Kent Renfroe (Carol), of Marion, Arkansas and one daughter Elaine Ryan (Peter) of South Carolina. He had eight grandchildren and fourteen great grandkids. Two of them lived here with him they were the apple of his heart.
Hiram was described by his family as living a long wonderful Christian life. A lot went on between his birth in Alligator, Mississippi to his final hour in Marion, Arkansas. After a tour in the Army, he went to work selling physical therapy ultrasound equipment. Traveling many miles between calls. By 1958 he started ''Renfroe Medical'' and it continues to this day. Hiram married the love of his life Marilyn and remained in love for over 70 years. He loved spending time with his family. They took trips to the Grand Canyon and trout fishing at Spring River in Hardy, Arkansas. When he was in his 70s he bought land out in the country so he could garden and be outdoors all the time.
I thank God for allowing me to be my father's son. He was the best dad any boy could have ever wished to have. I will miss him forever.
In the journey of life we meet people who positively impact our lives. Hiram Renfroe was one of those people who enriched my life beyond measure. as a Physical Therapist it is natural to "give" of ourselves and Hiram was a giver easily recognized as being special. No matter how busy I was I ALWAYS stopped and made time to visit Hiram. Mr. Renfroe will be sorely missed in this confused world but his influence will last forever. I am so very blessed and THANKFUL to have called him a friend. Love and prayers to his family and friends.
Sending love and prayers to you all during this difficult time. â¤ï¸
It was a blessing to meet Mr. Renfroe and his remarkable wife during Christmas a few years ago. He was just as his daughter Elaine had always described...Humble, kind, humorous, and a Christian example for us all. Mrs. Renfroe, Elaine, and his entire family are in our prayers. We will always be grateful for his service to our country!
So very sorry to learn on Mr. Hiram’s death. Prayers for Marilyn and the rest of this family.
So very sorry to hear about Mr. Renfroe’s passing. First met him in 1986 while working at Baptist Lamar unit as a beginning OT when supervisor stated I had to meet this man to learn about modalities. As it turned out, I knew his daughter from Hendrix College. He was a great help to so many therapists. He was truly a very brilliant and respected man. I very much enjoyed working with him in therapy as he had health issues. He had a great sense of humor. I appreciate his family hat was very supportive. Deeply for your loss of this great man. David M. Brick, OTR/L.
I know I will see you again, dad. But in the meantime I will miss you. You were a great dad to your kids and husband to mom and I am greatful to the Lord for letting me be one of your sons. Love you dad.
Mr. Renfroe was such a sweet man. I lived right behind them for years until they moved when I was young. My heart goes out to Mrs. Renfroe for her loss and to their children
Hiram and Marilyn were the first people we met went we moved to West Memphis in 1987. And we are still friends. He was a good man and father figure to me. I will miss him.
So sorry to hear this.. He was truly loved and will be missed. Prayers for strength and healing for his wife and family
I've always said if I could just find a man just like my Grandaddy I'd be doing good but they don't make em like that anymore these days it seams.... In my eyes my grandaddy, Hiram Renfroe was and always will be THE definition of what a good man should be and I'm pretty sure God must've broke the mold after he made him...
I love you grandaddy.... Fly Highâœï¸ðŸ˜‡
We were so blessed to have known Mr. Renfroe and have fond memories of the Christmas that he and Mrs. Renfroe spent with the Ryans in Landrum. A true gentleman with a keen wit and a kind word for everyone.
We here at the University of Central Arkansas, Department of Physical Therapy, have had a great working relationship with Hiram and Renfroe Medical for nearly half a century. Our thoughts are prayers are with all of you during this difficult time.
