Sandra Rose

of Benton, AR

April 1, 1935 - July 9, 2021

Sandra Rose died Friday, July 9, 2021. She was born in Benton on April 1,1935 to the late Fred Butler and Malinda Kellums Butler. She is preceded in death by her brother John Henry Butler.

She is survived by her sister, Gwen Rowan; her children Susan Baugh and Stephen Caple; 7 grandchildren, 16 great grand children and her children's father, Earl Caple. Also, her sister-in-law, Peggy Butler, beloved nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

A star athlete and honor graduate of BHS, her career choice was Laboratory Technician, beginning at SVI and private labs. Her career years in the Clinical Laboratory of Saline Memorial Hospital covered a span from 1968 until her retirement in 2000, a period that saw rapid and amazing advances in automation and technology requiring her to constantly update her knowledge and skills.

Fearless, except for open heights, she took great pleasure in travel and packed up her van with Gwen or friend, Irma, and traveled all over the USA and Canada to see the beauty and visit historic sites. She toured many European countries with Peggy Butler as her guide. When she returned from those tours, she would take Susan or Irma back to see some of the ones that were her favorites- England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland. She definitely lived life to the fullest and will live forever in the hearts of her family and friends.
The family will hold a graveside and burial service at Sharon Cemetery at a later date.

Sandra was like a sister to me - made good times but always there for the bad times. I loved her very much and we were friends for 53 years. I will always miss her.
