Joyce Ola Maye Haney Farris was born at Gayler, Arkansas on March 4, 1929, and entered into rest in Mountain View, Arkansas on July 7, 2021 at the age of 92.
Ola Maye, as she was known, was tiny in stature, but she had an iron clad will evident by her struggle with health issues in her last few years. Ola Maye was a Christian, a mother, ''granny'', aunt, and friend. She will be dearly missed.
Ola Maye was proceeded in death by her parents, James Harvey ''Jim'' Haney and Carrie Roena Pogue, her husband, James C. ''J.C.'' Farris, brothers Troy, John Roy and Carlis Haney, her sister, Ora Lea Deatherage, and nephew, Jimmy Darrell Deatherage.
Survivors are her daughter and son-in-law, Jami and Tony Passmore of Onia, AR, grandchildren, Luke Henriksen of Fayetteville, AR, Carrie and Tyler Wilson of Rogers, AR, Kyle and Regina Passmore of Onia, AR, Bret and Haley Passmore of Belleville, AR; great-grandchildren, Nolan and Savannah Wilson, Shelby, Peyton, Greyson, Beckett, and Anna Klaire Passmore, and a host of nieces, nephews and beloved cousins.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, July 10, 2021, at Big Springs Cemetery in Newnata. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. with the service following at 10:00. The service will be officiated by Randy Long, obituary reading by Luke Henriksen, and special music by Bret Passmore. Pall bearers will be Tony Passmore, Luke Henriksen, Tyler Wilson, Bret Passmore and Kyle Passmore. Honorary pall bearers will be nephews Marlin Haney, Tim Haney, Danny Haney, Mike Haney and Dennis Haney and nieces Karen Leonard and Shelia Burns.
Due to Covid, social distancing will be observed.
