Vernon Cox, 82, Of Clinton, Arkansas was born on November 03, 1938 in Elba, Arkansas to the late Marion and Martha (Barnett) Cox and passed from this life on July 3, 2021 at his home. Mr. Cox distinguished himself as a United States Air Force Veteran, having served his country for 23½ years. He spent another 19½ years working as a security guard for Con-Agra. Mr. Cox enjoyed gardening and woodworking.
Mr. Cox is preceded in death by his parents, five brothers; Fairl Cox, Ernie Ray Cox, Leonard Cox, J.W. Cox, James A. Cox and one sister, Marvell Holley.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of over 60 years, Norma (Story) Cox, two sons; Rodney Cox and wife Sarah of Chuckey, Tennessee, Randy Cox of Benton, Arkansas, four grandchildren; Ayrialle, Jazzmyn, Austin Case, Campbell Marie, two sisters; Delories Haney of Shirley, Arkansas, Linda Still of Hot Springs, Arkansas, one brother, L.D. Cox of Clinton, Arkansas, other relatives and a host of friends.
Visitation will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday, July 07, 2021 at the Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Clinton. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am at the Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Culpepper Cemetery.

We always considered you and vernon as real close friends. I know that we didn,t keep in touch much over the years, but we often thought of you 2 I know losing Vernon is a great loss to you.He ws such a wonderful person and was my honor to have known him.
Norma, I have lost the love of my life also. Ruby passed away 3 April 2019 and i,m still lost without her, but we must keep going and try to hold our head up high and one day we will be reunited in Heaven!
