December 17, 1936 - June 23, 2021

Jo Ann Carpenter-Parker-Doggett, 84, of Batesville, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at her daughter's home in Dumfries, Virginia.

She was born December 17, 1936 in Salado, Arkansas to the late Jess Carpenter and Opal (Jackson) Carpenter of Batesville.

Jo Ann was a strong Baptist who loved bringing children to the Lord and served throughout her life as a child evangelism instructor. Her unmitigated faith in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior was a hallmark of her life. She was a home-maker and military spouse for more than 40 years. She was a doting grandmother whose home was always open to her family. She enjoyed playing the piano and her favorite flowers were pink petunias.

Survivors include her spouse, Ken Doggett of Batesville; five children, Belinda Wensel (Jim) of Vaccaville, California, Phyllis Greer (Eric) of Wildomar, California, Bonny Nuzzo (Don) of San Diego, California, Jennifer Cumming (Nathan) of Dumfries, Virginia, and Jesse Parker (Melissa) of Newark, Arkansas; brother, Dixie Carpenter (Barbara) of Batesville; sister, Kathy Lindley of Gulf Shores, Alabama; fourteen grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Jerry Parker; and brother, Howard Carpenter.

Pallbearers are David Carpenter, Clint Callahan, Clark Carpenter, Mark Carpenter, Nathan Cumming, and Gabriel Cumming.

Funeral services will begin at 10:00 am Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at Allen Chapel Free Will Baptist Church with Tim Landers officiating. Burial will follow at Egner Cemetery in Salado under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.

Visitation will be held from 9:00-10:00 am Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at the church.

Jesse and Jennifer and family - We are so sorry to hear of your loss. JoAnn was a wonderful person. Even though we have not seen her in years, we have fond memories of when we were all members at Salado Baptist Church and her sweet Aunt, Ms. Opal was there as well. Thinking of you and praying for comfort in this tough time.

I love you, Grandmom. Thank you for teaching me about the Lord and loving me unconditionally. I will miss your smile, your laugh, and your cooking. You are the best listener. Thank you for making me feel special. Papa was always concerned about you being lonely when he would leave the house, and would rush home to be with you. I'm conforted knowing you will be reunited with Papa in heavan. You are truly one of the best people in my life and I will hold you close to my heart until we meet again. Love, Karen
