Shelby "Lineous" Hensley, 93, of Hickory Flat, passed peacefully from this life on Sunday, June 13, 2021, at 3:07 P.M., surrounded by family. Lineous was born November 13, 1927, to Frank and Lizzie Hensley of Hickory Flat, the seventh of eight children. He attended school at Hickory Flat and Pleasant Plains before graduating from Pangburn High School in 1945. He was a farmer who raised numerous types of produce for market. He also raised livestock and operated a country grocery store for many years.
Lineous is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nora (Barnett) Hensley, who passed in 2010 after 60 years of marriage. He is also preceded in death by: his parents and seven siblings; a daughter, Carol Troop of Letona; two grandchildren, Brittany Hensley of Hickory Flat and Kyle Lipscomb of Reno, Texas; one great-grandchild, Faith Smallwood of Powderly, Texas; and two sons- in-law, Gary Watson of Hickory Flat and James Lipscomb of Reno, Texas.
Lineous is survived by seven children: Kathryn Perry (Glenn) of Hickory Flat; Ramona Watson of Hickory Flat; Donna Nelson (Dennis) of Kensett; Dorothy Lipscomb of Reno, Texas; Alice Kennedy (Mitch) of Batesville; Ben Hensley (Debbie) of Hickory Flat; and Adrian Hensley (Sandy) of Pangburn. He is also survived by: one son-in-law, Michael Troop of Conway, 14 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Lineous' life will be held Thursday, June 17, at 10:00 A.M. at the Olive Branch Cemetery in Hickory Flat. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Olive Branch Cemetery, c/o Roger Pate, 595 McJester Road, Pangburn, Arkansas, 72121
