We wish to send our love and condolences to Mrs. Merl and the Spann family. During the six years we were on staff at Trinity, Mr. Relton and Mrs. Merl always had kind and encouraging words for us. Without a doubt he is in Heaven enjoying the things he worked so hard for while here on earth. He was a true Man of God. May God keep your family wrapped in his ever loving arms.

I loved the “High Profile” tribute from 2014 that commemorated Relton and Merl’s 65th wedding anniversary. They made a great team! I cherish my friendship with Relton as he was such a kind and considerate man. We both had little fish ponds and Relton had the knack of keeping water hyacinth alive over winter and would always give me a few to propagate my pond each spring😎 Most of all, he shared the love of Christ his whole life! Well done good and faithful servant!

I will miss this sweet man of God who consistently lived his faith before us. Even in advanced age he had a burden for those he knew were missing a relationship with Jesus, and he was moved by his faith to bring them into right relationship with the Savior. That is how I will always remember him.

Now he has transitioned to his new home, which he has worked for his entire life. I will see you later my friend.

Our prayers and most heartfelt condolences to you Merl, and all of the family.

I will forever remember the kindness of Uncle Relton. The countless visits with my Papaw, harvesting honey and bringing a treat to AJ. What an impression he left on my son and what a blessing! May God give great peace and comfort to you, Mrs. Meryl and the family. Much Respect and Love, Jeff and Romona Jackson

Mr. Spann was my mother's boss in early 60's while she was in beauty school. Her name was Ora Hendrix. She adored him.

Relton Spann epitomized the qualities of a man who loved God, his family, his friends, and his church. Never seeking attention, he quietly went about his life living his faith and leaving a legacy of honesty and integrity. He worked hard. He shared easily, and his partnership with Merl for 72 years is a model for the rest of us. I extend sympathy to the family, but rejoice for Relton, he's enjoying the fruit of his labors.
