Alpha Caudle

of Mayflower, AR

February 20, 1919 - June 3, 2021

Alpha Caudle, 102, of Mayflower entered eternal life on Thursday, June 3, 2021. She was born February 20, 1919, in Saltillo, Faulkner County. Alpha (Granny) retired from the Dept of Agriculture. Granny enjoyed reading her bible, being outside in the garden, planting flowers, fishing, sewing, cooking, and most of all spending time with her family. Her spirit is carried on by all that was blessed to be part of her life. Granny was the matriarch of the family and an extraordinary woman that never missed an opportunity to talk to tell you what was on her mind, in such a manner people did not feel threatened, and her willingness to talk about any subject was admirable. Granny was a member of multiple churches and developed a large church family over her 102 years. She attended church at Oak Bowery Baptist Church, Morgan Full Gospel, GAP Ministries and The Old County Church. Granny was blessed with 21 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, 37 great- great grandchildren and 3 great-great-great grandchildren.

Granny enjoyed traveling around to different junk stores (flea markets) and as fate would have it, she met the late WJ Caudle while shopping at the Woody's Junk store and they married July 13, 1987. Granny was blessed with (son) Michael Caudle (Betsy), Mark Caudle (Melanie), Carol Don Caudle (Ann), Lannie Caudle (Shelia) and Paul Ray Caudle; (daughter) Martha Caudle.

Granny was proceeded in death by Alvie Tew, WJ Caudle (2001); (parents) John and Lou Honeysuckle; (Siblings) Hershel Honeysuckle, Guy Honeysuckle, Gilbert Honeysuckle, Ruby Burris and Dacia Adams; (children) Amon "Dick" Tew, Joann Suiter, Johnny Tew Sr., and Brenda Joyce Tew; (Grandchildren) Kenny Collier (Cindy) and Jeffrey Caudle; (Great-Grandchildren) Jake Tew.

Granny joined the Salem Place Nursing home in 2019 and gained additional family that she loved and enjoyed. During her stay with Salem Place Nursing home, she was known as everyone's Granny and was loved by all. At the age of 100, she was crowned the Salem Place District 1 Queen in the 2019 pageant along with Best Dressed and Appearance. She was loved by many at Salem Place as they were family to her.

Her spirit is carried on by her surviving children; Michael Caudle (Betsy), Mark Caudle (Melanie), Carol Don Caudle (Ann), Lannie Caudle (Shelia) and Paul Ray Caudle and Martha Caudle; grandchildren; Marsha Collier, Tommy Collier, Lisa Brinkley (Doug), Brenda McLain (Cecil), Johnny Tew Jr., Jamie Burns (Jason), Jeff Tew (Tammy), Dickie Tew, Amanda Brown (Brandon), Amber Blackstone (Chris), Carolyn Stroud (Steven), Pam Cruse, Clinton Caudle (Melissa), Alexis Caudle, Angela Caudle, Paul Caudle, Jared Caudle, Jason Caudle, Christopher Caudle and 35 great grandchildren, 37 great-great grandchildren and 3 great-great-great grandchildren.

Visitation is 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, June 7, 2021, at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway. Funeral is 10:00 AM Tuesday June 8, 2021, at funeral home with burial at New Liberty Cemetery in Conway, AR. The family will be receiving guest at the home of Jason and Jamie Burns, 7 Fern Lane, Conway, AR 72032 immediately following the burial.

I sure did Love my Aunt Alphie, she was married to my uncle Ben when I was a little girl & she was one of my favorites . She always had a giggle and a smile & something funny to say . Aunt Alphie and my mom were close when they were sister-in-law’s . I took my mom to visit her a couple of years ago & it was just like stepping back in time talking with her , laughing at her stories . My mom had althezimers and smiled at Alphie & laughed at some of her stories , we think she remembered something about her sweet friend . She loved when Alphie sang to us . She will be missed by who knew her . My prayers are with the family .

We will forever cherish the sweet memories we had going to church and singing songs with Granny. She was such a sweet friend to my mom when she was at Salem Place Nursing & Rehab. We will miss her but know we will see her in heaven again some day.

Granny was a very special lady and will be greatly missed. Our prayers and thoughts go out to all those she impacted during her 102 years on this earth. If there was ever a place in heaven for a story teller...the Lord is announcing right this minute...move it on over...there's a new girl in town.

My beloved family of birth , I love you all , my heart has been with you on this journey ! I will forever miss my Aunt Alpha , I waited expectantly for her trips from Indiana , and I was very close to her youngest son , Johnny & her daughter , Joanne ( Joan) she was a very loving human being to me as I grew up . She brought me a kitten & a puppy 2 different times from Indiana. She probably never knew how much that meant to a lonely little girl from a broken home . She gave me gems of wisdom in my young years . When I wasn't but about 12 , she wanted me to help her put a home perm in her hair , I was scared it would wreck her hair , it didn't curl good , but she insisted I did a great job . I love you all , and my heart is with you . I will never forget my Aunt . Love niece Mary Earlene , Holder , Catenacci

Granny I Miss You And Was So Honored To Be Able To Help Care For You And I’ll Never Forget You Waking Up Early While I Was Trying To Surprise You On Your “102” Birthday. Your smile when you seen all the gifts. Made my heart smile. I love you and miss you so much. I’ll drink some buttermilk for you. 💜

It was a pleasure taking care of Granny. I always loved how she would pick at me about her meds. She held a very special place in my heart. She will be deeply missed but I know she is at peace and dancing on the streets of Gold in Heaven. RIP Granny.

I am sorry to hear of Ms. Alpha's death. What a lady!! My friends and I performed old country music monthly at Salem Place and were fortunate to hear her rendition of "The Old Man and the Rocking Chair." I loved it. She was a sweet person and I counted myself lucky to have made her acquaintance! My thoughts and warm wishes go out to her family.
