When my Dad ( E.W. Kelley Mona Kay's uncle) died in 2017 I missed getting to see him by 1/2 hour. I lay beside his body on his floor I was reminded of what David told Solomon when he was dieing, he said "I go the way of all the earth". A month or two later I was reading in a memorial Bible and it described dieing and going to be with the Lord as going to our "long home". Sam is at rest at his long home now.
