James Darrell Davis, 79, of Mabelvale, passed away May 28, 2021. He was born April 24, 1942 in Comanche, Oklahoma to J.C. and Velma Berry Davis.
James was a member of the P&B Hunting Club and loved fishing, camping, and especially spending time with his grandchildren. He worked in the oil fields at a young age and acquired skills to become a mechanic later in life. He will be missed but his memory will be cherished, and his legacy will continue through those who loved and cared for him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Darrell Davis; sister, Beverly Martin; mother-in-law, Inez James; and a daughter-in-law, Lee Ann Smith.
James is survived by his wife, Donna Davis; sons, Kevin Davis, Chuck Abshire (Ann), Phillip Abshire (Donneailla), Michael Abshire (April); daughters, Teresa Matthews, and Kim Shaver (Terry) and brother, Dennis Davis; 8 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; a sister, Barbara Suitor, and many other extended family members and friends.
A Graveside Service will be Thursday, June 3, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 2, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Roller-Alcoa Funeral Home, 6700 Alcoa Road, Benton.
